Technical Difficulties

Technical Difficulties was a comic series I wrote and was illustrated by friend Lexi Stewart. I interviewed members of my POSSE cohort about our experiences as all BIPOC POSSE students at a predominately white university. The project focuses on the "technical difficulties" of being students of color recruited by predominately white institutions, only to find themselves thrown into a space that was not designed nor accommodates them and their needs, in addition to the lack of resources.

The Process:

The way we created each individual comic was that I interviewed my POSSE members about their experiences being BIPOC students at a PWI and from those interviews selected one or two stories and then Lexi Illustrated the art for it. I am very grateful to everyone involved in the project and hope to one day expand it to highlight more BIPOC experiences at PWIs.
